We’re the WSU
Student Partners.
Recap
The SAP Roundtable Archive
We hosted the 2021 National Students as Partners Roundtable on 23-25 November. It brought together SAP practitioners around the world to learn share, and offer feedback on each other’s Partnership practices.
New Update
Western’s Challenge Minors
Over the past few years we have been co-creating transdisciplinary curriculum to equip any WSU student with the skills needed for the future of work and society.
We are the Western Sydney University Student Partners.
We made this for you.
We believe students have something to contribute, alongside academics, to making a better university. And if we, as students, were able to understand what we possess and truly see the opportunities and possibilities to shape our university, we’d realise we’re capable of changing things in it.
We made this website to showcase our work. And in doing so, to showcase what students and staff are capable of accomplishing together when a context for authentic partnership is set up around them.
From making curriculum alongside staff, to co-researching and leading projects at an institutional level, you’ll see the story of how we, the WSU Student Curriculum Partners, have been shaking things up at Western over the last few years.
We hope it inspires, broadens, challenges, and informs your work too!
We Co-Create Change
“Change” because that is what we contribute.
”Co-Create” because we make that change in partnership with our fellow partners - students, staff, and external partners in the community and industry.
The Work We Do
-
We Co-Create Curriculum
From entire subjects, to short learning courses and transdisciplinary Challenge Minors, a significant proportion of our work has been about curriculum co-creation informed by Partnership Pedagogy.
-
We are Co-Researchers
Through our research, writing and presentations, we aim to add value to the existing scholarly conversations about Student-Staff Partnership. We build on the work of others, and hope our work acts as that same building block for others.
-
We Lead Initiatives
We’ve had opportunities to lead large scale initiatives both within and outside the university. From hosting the National Students as Partners Roundtable in 2021 to thinking up ways to scale partnership across University, we aim to drive change.
Thank You.
Professor Simon Barrie is the DVC and Vice President (Academic) as well as the Executive Sponsor of the 21C Project. Simon has been alongside us over the last 4.5 years and is one of our greatest Champions. Thanks Simon.
