Meet the Makers

  • Ricky Spencer

    Ricky is an Associate Professor and ecologist by training, known internationally for his work on turtle conservation. He was the Sustainability Advocates Curriculum Champion.

  • Mariam Darestani

    Mariam is a materials engineer, passionate about the environment and focused on developing new materials and products for sustainable use of resources, especially water.

  • Kobi Newell

    Kobi is a Business student passionate about environmental sustainability. He is an Aboriginal man from Warrimay (Worimi) Country and believes that diverse knowledge bases can contribute to a sustainable future.

  • Shivani Suresh

    Shivani is a Masters of Public Health student who is also one of the Coordinating Leads of the Student Partners team at Western.

  • Evelyn Nguyen

    Evelyn completed a Master of Social Work at WSU and now works as a qualified mental health social worker in Brisbane.

  • My Nguyen

    My is finishing up a Maths and Data Science degree and is heavily involved in the student life of the university through Launchpad.
